I am a Research Software Engineer at the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. My main interests and tasks are

- I am part of a central IT team that looks after the HPC system. We use ansible to manage the cluster.
- I very much enjoy teaching. I am a Carpentries Instructor and hold regular Software Carpentries Workshops. I also run the digital literacy course of the SpaceMed programme.
- Programming: These days I mostly program python. I also really enjoy programming in Fortran, preferably the more recent object-oriented standards. C is also fine. I also do high performance computing, using MPI or OpenMP to parallelise large codes.

- I was one of the lead developers of the GLIMMER community ice sheet model in its early phases. I am the lead developer for the piccolo spectrometer system.
